The festival aims to improve the quality of local tourism whilst promoting an positive image and showcasing the tourism potential of the locality. During the course of the three-day festival, the hot air balloon performance will be held twice a day on the beaches of Duy Ha hamlet in Thang Binh district. A total of 20 colourful hot air balloons of various shapes and sizes are exhibited along the coast. The highlight of the festival is a national flag salute ceremony, drawing the participation of 2,000 locals and tourists on the morning of April 1. Other cultural activities including the display and introduction of coastal cultural products, a traditional singing, a whale worshiping ritual, and folk games will get underway during the course of the festival.
