Contestants will have the opportunity to compete in both professional and non-professional groups. The non-professional group is specifically for candidates of all nationalities who are not pursuing a piano major from professional music institutions such as the Conservatory of Music, Music Academies, Culture and Arts Colleges, or Universities with piano majors. All repertoires must strictly consist of classical music and cannot include styles such as Jazz, Blue, Broadway, Semi-Classical, or Pop Music. Furthermore, all pieces must be performed from memory without sheet music.
