Fireworks will last for a total of 15 minutes and are set to start at midnight on January 21. Funding for the show will be contributed by a group of local businesses. This will be the first time in three years that the capital’s authorities have planned to organise the firework shows in order to usher in the Lunar New Year in all districts and towns in Hanoi, just as they did before the onset of COVID-19. During the three-day New Year 2023 holiday between December 31 and January 2, 2023, roughly 720 flights are expected to depart from and arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport, carrying a total of 115,000 passengers. As part of efforts to ease overcrowding at the airport, plans have been devised in order to add check-in counters, waiting chairs for passengers at domestic and international gates, and improve the technical system. All staff are mobilised in a bid to serve the peak travel season. Passengers are therefore advised to arrive at the airport two hours prior to their departure time for domestic flights and three hours in advance for international flights.
