The festival, an annual event held in mid-May, provided a chance for foreign communities in Italy to meet and exchange with each other. One of the groups is the Dao ethnic minority people who reside, for the most part, in the mountainous northern provinces of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Lang Son.
