Vietnam’s First Locally-Owned Semiconductor Plant: A Landmark Achievement

The groundbreaking ceremony was graced by the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, President of Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam National University, Vu Hai Quan, and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Pham Duc Long. This event marked a significant milestone and a step forward in Vietnam’s semiconductor industry development. With an investment capital of approximately 100 million USD for phase two, the facility will cover 30,000 square meters within the CT Group High-Tech Development Centre in Thuan An, Binh Duong Province. This includes the cost of constructing a clean room, purchasing machinery and equipment, and acquiring intelligent factory management software. Scheduled to commence operations in the final quarter of 2025, the plant is projected to attain an impressive annual capacity of 100 million chips by 2027.
