6 Vietnamese Football Stars Arrested in Match-Fixing Scandal

Six footballers were arrested on charges related to gambling and match-fixing, shaking the Vietnamese football community. The arrests include five players from the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Club and one from the Dong Nai Club. The players are alleged to have thrown matches, underperforming, and deliberately losing to benefit from gambling payouts. According to the Ulsan Port Authority, a new service operator, Evergreen Korea, plans to operate three trips to Ulsan port weekly. It is predicted that this new shipping route will generate an annual volume of about 24,000 TEUs (1 TEU = one 20-foot container) for the port.
