Vietnam’s Weather Update (Feb 12): A Slight Increase in Northern Region’s Temperature

The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting predicts that in the first few days of the Lunar New Year holiday, there will be light rain with sunshine in the afternoons in the North and Thanh Hoa. The weather will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing very low temperatures that can be harmful to people’s health. The temperature in the region is expected to gradually increase, reaching a maximum of 25 degrees. In the Northwest, some places may even see temperatures above 26 degrees.

On the other hand, from Nghe An to Quang Binh, there will be rainy and freezing weather. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in some places from Quang Tri to Binh Dinh, accompanied by low temperatures.

Thua Thien Hue to Quang Ngai will experience heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall ranging from 15-30mm, and in some places over 50mm. Thunderstorms may bring tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds. The heavy rain can cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.

The Central Highlands and Southern regions will have sunny days and cold nights. The heat in the Southern region will be particularly strong around noon.

The weather forecast in different regions

Northwest region: The weather forecast predicts cloudy and rainy conditions in some places, with afternoon sun. Lowest temperature: 12-13 degrees, and some places may even drop below 10 degrees. Highest temperature: 17-20 degrees, with some places seeing temperatures above 20 degrees.

Northeast region: The weather will be cloudy with light rain in some places, and sunshine in the afternoon. Northeast wind level 2-3. The weather will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing cold temperatures that can be harmful to people’s health. Lowest temperature: 10-13 degrees, and some places may even drop below 10 degrees. Highest temperature: 17-20 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: Cloudy and rainy conditions are expected in some places during the day. North to northwest winds level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4. Lowest temperature: North 12-14 degrees; South 15-17 degrees. Highest temperature: 17-20 degrees.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: The weather will be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the afternoon and evening. Lowest temperature: North 20-22 degrees; South 23-25 degrees. Highest temperature: North 24-27 degrees, and 28-31 degrees in the South.

The Central Highlands: The weather will be cloudy during the day and clear at night. Northeast to east wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature: 18-21 degrees. Highest temperature: 28-31 degrees, with some places seeing temperatures above 31 degrees.

The Southern region: The weather will be cloudy during the day and clear at night. East to southeast wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature: 22-25 degrees. Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees, with some places even exceeding 34 degrees.

The weather forecast in big cities

Hanoi: The weather will be warm and less cloudy in the afternoon and evening, with no rain at night. North to northeast wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature: 11-13 degrees. Highest temperature: 21-23 degrees.

Ho Chi Minh City: The weather will be cloudy during the day and clear at night. Northeast to east wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees. The highest temperature is 32-35 degrees, with some places even exceeding 35 degrees in the East.

Exhibition on the history of Vietnamese lotus flowers opens

The exhibition “Hanh Trinh Di…” or “A Journey…” by painter Nguyen Thị Thuy Huong will open on December 23 at 45 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Exhibition spotlights Buddhism in Vietnam
