ĐÀ NẴNG — The central city of Đà Nẵng has emerged as a key player in the thriving Asia Pacific MICE sector, committed to service excellence with its world-class facilities and strategic location.

The city’s growing prominence in the MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) has garnered significant attention and accolades from international stakeholders at the Meetings Show Asia Pacific 2024 in Singapore.

MICE groups from a diverse range of international markets, including Australia, India, Thailand, Russia, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, have shown a keen interest in choosing Đà Nẵng as their event destination.

This year’s Meetings Show Asia Pacific, themed Asia Pacific’s Role in Recasting the Global MICE Sector, provided the perfect platform for Đà Nẵng to reinforce its position as a top-tier venue for international meetings and conventions.

In the first quarter of 2024, the city welcomed 25 MICE groups, comprising 9,510 visitors. Last year, it hosted 163 MICE groups, totaling 45,344 visitors.

At the forefront of showcasing Đà Nẵng as a premier MICE destination was the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang.

“We were honored to represent Đà Nẵng and Việt Nam at this prestigious international gathering,” said Prabhakar Singh, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang.

“The interest we received at the show is a testament to our city’s potential and the effective strategies we’ve implemented to promote our MICE capabilities on a global stage,” he added.

During the conference, the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, known for hosting the prestigious APEC 2017 and a co-founder of the Asia Venue Alliance (AVA), presented its cutting-edge facilities, tailored event solutions, and commitment to sustainable business practices.

These efforts were designed to meet the complex demands of modern international events, providing attendees and potential clients with valuable insights into the future of event hosting in the Asia Pacific region.

As the MICE industry focuses on recovery and growth post-pandemic, resilience and adaptability are more important than ever.

According to a report by Precedence Research, the global MICE industry is estimated to register an impressive annual growth rate of 7.2% from 2023 to 2032, surpassing US$1.7 trillion by 2032.

The Asia-Pacific region is expected to contribute significantly to this growth, with an annual growth rate of 7.4% over the same period, accounting for almost half of the global market share by 2032.

The Meetings Show Asia Pacific 2024 served as a significant milestone for the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang to highlight Đà Nẵng’s readiness to host world-class events, driving the growth of tourism and business in the region.

“The Meetings Show Asia Pacific presented a fantastic opportunity for us to exchange knowledge with industry leaders and bring international standards to Vietnam,” said Prabhakar Singh.

“We are thrilled about the future prospects and the positive impact our participation will have on attracting more global events to our city. We invite all interested parties to discover the vibrant city of Đà Nẵng and explore its potential as a top destination for international business gatherings,” he added.

To further enhance the city’s appeal, Đà Nẵng has launched one of the largest promotion programs of the year, with the tourism industry offering over 10,000 vouchers worth VNĐ5 billion (US$200,000) to tourists visiting the city.

With a focus on promoting MICE and golf as key tourism products, the city’s tourism industry is committed to providing visitors with exceptional experiences.

In 2023, Đà Nẵng Golf Resort joined the Asian Tour Destinations, offering golfers a diverse range of golfing venues during their trip to central Việt Nam, including BRG Đà Nẵng golf clubs, Bà Nà Hills Golf Club, Vinpearl Golf Nam Hội An, Hoiana Shore Club, and Laguna Golf Lăng Cô.
