THE HANOI TIMES — In a recent collaboration, the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) and the northern coastal city of Haiphong have unveiled the “Hoa Phuong Do,” a luxurious tourist train that promises an elegant and refined traveling experience.

Stepping into the 34-seat VIP coach, passengers are enveloped in a world of Indochinese elegance. The design seamlessly blends classic Asian aesthetics with modern sophistication, where every detail has been carefully curated to evoke a sense of refinement. From natural wood floors to complimentary Wi-Fi and an onboard bar, the VIP coach offers a truly luxurious journey.

The exclusive carriage also serves as a unique photo opportunity and a venue for live music concerts, enhancing the overall travel experience. All coaches are equipped with spacious hand-washing areas and modern restrooms, ensuring a comfortable and convenient trip. The new coaches feature semi-automatic doors, digital panels for real-time location and speed updates, plush plastic flooring, and marbled walls, adding to the sense of luxury.

Hoa Phuong Do Train

In addition to the VIP coach, the train also offers standard 64-seat cars with flexible pricing to accommodate different traveler needs. Ticket prices for the Hanoi – Haiphong luxury route are very reasonable, with the VIP class costing VND250,000 (US$10) on weekdays and VND300,000 (US$12) on weekends. This includes a complimentary drink of your choice. First Class tickets are available at VND150,000 ($6) on weekdays and VND180,000 ($7.2) on weekends, while Economy Class costs VND105,000 ($4.2) and VND130,000 ($5.2) respectively.

To mark its launch, the train is offering a 10% discount on all tickets until May 18. This is a great opportunity for travelers to experience the unique charm of the Red Flamboyant Train.

Haiphong Port City

The newly launched train provides a comfortable and convenient way to explore the vibrant port city of Haiphong.

According to Hoang Gia Khanh, General Director of the Vietnam Railways Corporation, the train is more than just a means of transportation. It is a tourism product that showcases the vibrant culture of Haiphong, famous for its stunning red flamboyant flowers during the summer. He believes that the Red Flamboyant Train will become an integral part of travelers’ journeys as they explore the beauty of this charming port city.

Vietnam Railways continues to work closely with local communities, offering cultural and historical train journeys that promote regional tourism and highlight Vietnam’s rich heritage.

Haiphong, located about 120 kilometers east of Hanoi, is a dynamic port city in northern Vietnam. Affectionately known as the “Red Flamboyant City,” it offers a diverse range of experiences for travelers. From tantalizing street food to scenic coastal retreats, Haiphong has something for everyone.

The Haiphong Railway Station, a picturesque landmark with striking French colonial architecture, serves as the starting point for train journeys. Exhibition on the history of Vietnamese lotus flowers opens

The exhibition “Hanh Trinh Di…” or “A Journey…” by painter Nguyen Thị Thuy Huong will open on December 23 at 45 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
