The Magic of Ha Long Carnaval 2025: A Showcase of Cultural Extravaganza!

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed leaders, including Nguyen Xuan Thang, a Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council. Vu Hong Thanh, a member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, also attended, along with leaders from various ministries, central agencies, and delegations from Laos and Guangxi, China. The event showcased the province’s cultural richness and development to the world.

Carnaval 2025 was a spectacular celebration comprising three main parts: “Ha Long – Radiant Heritage and Wonder,” “Quang Ninh – Heritage Within Heritage,” and “Global Integration – Pioneering to Shine.” Each segment beautifully depicted the unique cultural essence of Quang Ninh, captivating locals and tourists alike.

In a wonderful display of cultural unity, the carnival brought together intangible cultural heritages from across Vietnam. The audience was treated to a fusion of Then singing from Binh Lieu, the elegant Hue royal court music, the energetic Central Highlands gongs, and the soulful Southern amateur music (Don ca tai tu). These traditional art forms were presented with modern interpretations, making them accessible and engaging for all generations.

A memorable highlight of the event was the grand procession of model cars, accompanied by vibrant art performances and the energetic rhythm of Carnaval music. The DJ performance created a festive atmosphere, drawing everyone into a joyous celebration. The night sky lit up with a dazzling display of high-altitude fireworks, leaving spectators in awe.

Ha Long Carnaval 2025, themed “Connecting Heritage – Pioneering to Shine,” reflected Quang Ninh’s vision to establish itself as a leading tourism destination. The province aims to become a cultural and festival hub, bringing together Vietnamese and global heritage. With Ha Long as its shining star, Quang Ninh is poised to enter a new era of development, attracting visitors from all corners of the world.

The festival also incorporated cutting-edge technology, enhancing the viewer experience. Contemporary art forms, 3D mapping, laser shows, and sophisticated lighting effects created a visually stunning spectacle. The use of ten high-powered projectors from the US and Belgium transformed the stage into a vibrant canvas, with 3D projection mapping on rock mountain models adding a unique dimension to the performances.

Ha Long Carnaval, an annual event since 2007, has become a signature cultural-tourism brand for Ha Long City and Quang Ninh Province. It is a highly anticipated celebration that showcases the region’s beauty, culture, and hospitality.

In 2025, Quang Ninh sets its sights on welcoming 20 million tourists, with approximately 4.5 million international visitors. With exciting tourism stimulus programs like Ha Long Carnaval, the province is well on its way to achieving this ambitious goal.

Exhibition on the history of Vietnamese lotus flowers opens

The exhibition “Hanh Trinh Di…” or “A Journey…” by painter Nguyen Thị Thuy Huong will open on December 23 at 45 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Exhibition spotlights Buddhism in Vietnam
